Alexander Family YMCA
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a small group program designed for cancer survivors. It’s about giving them the opportunity to fight the disease through health and fitness outside of a medical setting. Our hope is that survivors will be a part of safe, supportive, respectful environment for healing. LIVESTONG at the YMCA is about health, not the disease.

Sessions meet one day per week in the Capital Fitness Community Room. One other day of the week, sessions are held at various parks, the Alexander Y, and other running venues around Raleigh.
Want to compete in your first 5k, improve your 5k time, or lose weight?
FIT-Tastic is a 13-week Walk-To-Run program offered by Capital RunWalk and the Alexander Y. This training program helps beginner walkers/runners develop a healthy and sustainable exercise regimen. Led by certified coaches. Incudes nutrition clinics, injury-prevention training, and pot-luck socials. Join the team!

Not sure where to start? Would you like to take your workout to the next level? Looking for motivation?
Our nationally certified personal trainers will help you achieve your fitness goals. Whether you are trying to lose weight, put on some muscle or are interested in new training ideas for current workouts, our trainers will provide a specialized program for you. Get expert advice and great motivation!
We also offer Tandem Personal Training, a great opportunity for friends and family to work together with a personal trainer. Sessions are limited to two participants.

Basic introduction to strength, candiovascular and flexibility training. This program teaches individuals how to safely and effectively operate all cardiovascular and strength equipment.

5:15 - 6:00 p.m.: Advanced Racquetball Improve your return of serve.
6:15 - 7:00 p.m.: Ladies Only Improve your swing, backhand and forehand.
